Criteria for Grants
| Targeted Areas |
|
| Who May Apply | Eligible applicants include alumni and students in the UC Davis/CSU Fresno Joint Doctoral Program in Educational Leadership who have completed or are enrolled in a methods course that is relevant to the proposed research. The research must be sponsored by either a CSU or UC faculty member. |
| Review Criteria | The following are general criteria for review of proposals:
|
| Review Process: Peer Review |
It is part of our intent to have this grant experience closely parallel other research grant application work. To this end it is highly recommended that grant proposals be submitted to one JDPEL graduate student who has completed all of their core courses for review. This review should be submitted with the proposal. The purposes of this peer review are: (a) to give the proposal the benefits of a review by someone not involved in the preparation of the proposal; and (b) to provide other graduate students the opportunity to participate in a professional level activity by providing critical review and comment on a research proposal. |
| Review Process: Grant Committee Review | A committee consisting of UC and CSU Fresno faculty will review all proposals. Grants will be awarded based on the review committee recommendations. |
| Reporting Requirements |
A final written report, using appropriate style that describes the research process and results is due within three months of project completion. It is required that grant recipients will submit a proposal to present their results at the JDPEL/UCERC/CSU Symposium within 1 year. Should you have any concerns and questions about reporting requirements, contact the UCERC at 559.241.7127. |
